About the Artist
Born in Kolkata, India in 1983, Madhurima Ganguly is a sculptor and visual art practitioner whose work spans continents and cultures. She earned her B.F.A. (2007) and M.F.A. (2009) in sculpture from Rabindra Bharati University before relocating to the United States in 2011, where her practice has continued to evolve across mediums and geographies.
Her work has been featured in numerous prestigious exhibitions throughout the U.S. and India, with notable solo presentations at Kerrytown Concert House in Ann Arbor (2018) and River House Arts in Toledo, Ohio (2019, 2022). Ganguly’s pieces are held in private collections in the U.S., U.K., and India, and she is represented by River House Arts, Toledo, while also actively exhibiting through the New York gallery Pen + Brush, where her works are part of the flat file collection. Alongside her studio practice, Ganguly is an art educator and works as a full-time medical and court interpreter.
